Etta Ruth Amerson, 80, a longtime resident of Eloy, passed away on May 19, 2021 at Desert Blossom Healthcare Facility in Mesa, Az
.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26th at Eloy Memorial Park.

Etta Ruth was born on June 22, 1940 in Carrizozo, NM, the fourth daughter of Clarence Roy Awbrey and Frankie Mae Lacasse. She attended and graduated school in Eloy. Hobbies and activities included bowling, which she enjoyed, and serving her community. She served as an Eloy City Council member for 22 years and worked for the Pinal County Justice Court in Eloy for 26 years. She enjoyed being with friends and family and loved the companionship of her dogs. She was married to J.C. Amerson for 45 years, who predeceased her.

Survivors include brothers Frank Awbrey of Flagstaff and Kenneth Awbrey of Eloy and 20 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, R.C. and Charles Awbrey, and three sisters, Cherry Burchett, Jonnie Buchanan and Lela Staats.
