Albert Alvin Adkins was my Uncle. He was the son of Dewey Woodrow [Earl] Adkins and Peachie Mae Miller. He married Thelma and he married dorothy Davis. He seved in World War II with the United States Navy serving in the Pacific Theater. Navy Good Conduct, World War Two Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal with two Battle stars, European African Campaign Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, Philippine Defense Medal, Honorable Discharge Pin And Certificate of Ocean Crossing.

Adkins, Albert A., age 74, of Vandalla, passed away Thursday, December 26, 1996 at the V.A. Medical Center. Albert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of WW II, serving with the Navy, and an active member of the VFW, Post 9582, Vandalia. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorotha Adkins. He is survived by his daughters and son in law, Vickie & Jerald Simcox of West Manchester, and Brenda & Richard Miller of Granada Hills, CA. Grandson, William Schroeder and his wife, Angela, and great granddaughters, Jessica & Gabrielle. Grandchildren, Nichele Schoeder, Weston Miller, Jessica, Stephanie & Jared Simcox. Sisters in law, Jean Masie, Faye Moreheaf and Shirley McComas. Funeral service will Mon. 2:30 P.M. at Terebinski Funeral Home, 11900 N. Dixie Dr. Butler Twp. with Rev. Wayne Monroe officiating. interment Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
