OLLIE LANDERS DIES THIS MORNING
Omar L. Landers, 51, a resident of Christian County his
entire life, died at 7:15 a.m. April 5, 1945 in his home.
Mr. Landers had been ill since December 14, 1944, suffering
from a complication of deseases.
Mr. Landers was born in Greenwood Township on March
21, 1894, the son of Ashley Green and Elizabeth (Dennison)
Landers. He married Mary Louise (Dorst) O'Brien on December
20, 1920 in Taylorville. He farmed in the country until two
years ago when he moved to the city and had been employed
at the ordinance plant in Illiopolis.
Surviving are his widow, Mary, father Ashley Green.
Three daughters; Myrtle L, Capitola J and Ruth L, all at home.
Two sons, PFC Harry Landers, who is stationed in Italy and is
enroute home; and Sgt. Challie F. Landers, who is stationed in
France. Also surviving is his brother Challie A. Landers. And
his grandchildren Sharon and Harry Vaughn Landers. He was a
member of the American Legion.
The body was moved to Joe Shafer's funeral home where arrange-
ments are incomplete. He will be buried at Harper's Ferry
Cemetery.
