Succumbs to Long Illiness
Ashley Green Landers, 81, retired farmer and a resident of Christian County for 67 years died at 3 o'clock this morning in the home of his son Challie Landers of Palmer, with whom he resided with for the last several years.
Ashley was born July 16, 1865 in Bond County, Illinois, a son of Bloomington and Sarah Smith Landers. He was married in Greenwood township in 1890 to ELizabeth Dennison, a daughter of William and Mary Dennison.
He is survived by his son Challie. Another son Omar preceded him in death. He also leaves a sister Tabitha Duckett of Taylorville. He was also preceded by his brothers, William, Stephen and Daniel, three sisters, Mary Jane Beaman, Elizabeth Batchelor and Susan Fowler.
The body was removed to the Shafer funeral home where it will remain until the hour of the services. Friends may call at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the funeral home until the time of the service. Rev. Charles, pastor ofthe Palmer Advent Christian Church, will officiate and interment will be at Harpers Ferry in Palmer, Illinois.
