Gregorio Torres, Sr., age 86, of Sweetwater passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Sweetwater.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be at 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Deacon David Mendez officiating.
Gregorio was born February 13, 1936 in Sweetwater to the late Florentino and Juanita (Ortega) Torres. He married Manuela Palafox on October 3, 1959 in Sweetwater. Gregorio worked as an Operator 5 and retired from USG after 39 years. He lived in Sweetwater all of his life and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.
Gregorio is survived by his daughter, Patricia Torres and Jesse Galvan, Jr. of Sweetwater; son, Greg Torres, Jr. and Patty of Sweetwater; sisters, Victoria Abalos of Sweetwater and Pat Quirino of Mansfield, Texas; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Manuela, on April 8, 2017; infant son, Robert Torres; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.
