Holy Mass of Christian burial for Demetria Jimenez, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jimenez died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 22, 1928, in Sweetwater. She married Basilio H. Jimenez Aug. 1, 1949, in Sweetwater.
Survivors include three daughters, Eva Costillo and husband Joe of Sweetwater, Cecilia DeLaCruz and husband Henry of Sweetwater and Patricia Reed and husband Ricky of Sweetwater; one son, George Jimenez and wife Juana of Sweetwater; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five sisters, Victoria Abalos, Rita Abrigo, Elena Rivera and Juanita Vasquez, all of Sweetwater and Pat Quirino of Arlington; and two brothers, Gregorio Torres and Leonard Torres, both of Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basilio H. Jimenez.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Reed, Cody Reed, Steven Reed, Gilbert Costillo, Andrew DeLaCruz, Christopher Jimenez and Michael Jimenez.
