Funeral Services for E. U. Peters Will Be Friday

Edgar U. Peters, 79, passed away this morning at 5 o'clock
at his home near Harvey.

Mr. Peters was born in the Steep Hollow community on April 22, 1872, and was a life-long resident of Brazos county. Always active in every movement launched for the betterment of his community, Mr. Peters stressed especially every opportunity of service to the Bethel Baptist church of which he was a member. He was the senior deacon of this church, for many years the leader of the church music, and was superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a rancher and a farmer.

The body will repose this afternoon at the family home and until an hour before the funeral service at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Bethel Baptist church, Rev. R. L. Brown will conduct the service, assisted by Rev. Milton Maloney, pastor of the church and by Dr. W. H. Andrews, pastor of the First Baptist church of Bryan. Interment will be in Steep Hollow cemetery

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Icy Peters of Harvey, one daughter, Mrs. Ira N. Kelley of Bryan and three sons, D. L. Peters of Harvey, Marshall Peters of Bryan and Edgar E. Peters of Kurten. Also surviving are ten grandchildren.
