After graduation from Franklin High School, she came to Charlotte, NC and was employed by Southern Bell Tel & Tel for 5 years. She retired in 2006 as hostess for Don Galloway Homes and Lennar Homes. She was a member of Derita Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hedrick is survived by two sons. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Hedrick, her parents Wilburn E. Welch and Alice Kimsey Welch, 14 siblings, Maude Baldwin, Eula B. Welch, Frank Welch, Howard Welch, Ralph W. Welch, Muriel Welch, William L. Welch, Lucy Welch Cataway, Fred Welch, Addie Belle Welch Stanley, Thomas Paul Welch, Edgar Earl Welch, Kenneth Welch and Louis B. Welch.
