Lena Verwolf was born May 25, 1899 in Corsica, South Dakota, and spent her early life there. She was married to Ray Ross in 1917 in Townsend, Montana. The family moved to Chelan in 1943. Mr. Ross preceded his wife in death in January of this year.
Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. Paul Rush, Wenatchee; Mrs. Don Nelson, Malaga, Mrs. George Hedrich, Chelan; Mrs. Michael McGrath, Selah; Mrs. C. R. Baker, Bozeman, Montana; Mrs. Sam Danley, Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. A. D. Morton, Haggerman, Idaho; Mrs. Hugh Williams, Sacramento, and Mrs. Louis Uylaki, Los Angeles; four sons, Ray of Wenatchee, Carl of Bozeman, Montana, Clyde of Red Bluff, Calif.; and Walter of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Van Dhiest, Los Angeles; Mrs. Bertha Gray, Redwood City, California; Mrs. Jane De Bore, Corsica, South Dakota, and Mrs. Elizabeth Randall, Selah, Washington; four brothers, Ton and Henry Verwolf, Manhattan, Montana; Mike Verwolf, Sand Point, Idaho, and Nick Verwolf, Belgrade, Montana; 44 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
