Emanuel Lesovsky son of Frank and Marie Kocian Lesovsky, was born December 5, 1863 in Czechoslovakia, and died July 24, 1950, at his home in Cuba, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 19 days.
Mr. Lesovsky came to this country in 1869 with his parents, and settled in a large Czech community at Muscoda, Wis. In 1873, with other pioneers, they came to homestead near Wayne. Mr. Lesovsky later bought his own farm, near Cuba, where he lived for 30 years.
In 1922 he purchased another farm three and a fourth miles north of Cuba, where he remained for 23 years. The last years of his life were spent at his home in Cuba.
Mr. Lesovsky was baptized in the Christian faith in the old country, and when a young man he attended Sunday school at Tabor, and later the church of Cuba. He was a member of the Woodmen lodge and of the Bohemian Order of Zapodni Jednota.
On August 11, 1882, he was married to Katherine Richecky. This happy union was blessed with 11 children, eight sons and three daughters.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and a sister, and four of his sons. Left to mourn his departure are his loving wife; three daughters, Mrs. Rosie Fisher of Cuba, Mrs. Bessie Makalous of Narka, Mrs. Mary Huncovsky of Cuba; and four sons, Joseph and Charles of Cuba, William of El Monte, Cal., and Frank of Narka. He also leaves 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of friends and relatives.
He was a kind and tender father, a loving and devoted husband, and a true helpful neighbor, who will be missed by all.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Presbyterian church in Cuba. The Rev. Amos Rundus officiating. Interment was in Tabor cemetery.
