Ruth Crowley, 86, died January 15, 1999, at her home in Huntsville.

Born in Huntsville, May 3, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Betty Ann Lowe Byrge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded also in death by her husband, Gilmerth Crowley; four infant children, three brothers, Fred, Walter, and Carlie Byrge; two sisters, Ivalean Strunk, and Lilly Sexton; three sons-in-law, Tommy Jeffers, Ervin Adkins, and Claud Jones.

She was a member of Winona Baptist Church.

She is survived by seven children Edith Lawson and husband, Onvia, of Huntsville, James (Bud) Crowley and his wife, Reda Mae, of Winona, and Charlene Adkins of Muncie, Ind., Ida Jeffers of the Fairview community, Nathan (Pete) Crowley and wife, Charlene, of Winona, Ella Crowley and husband, Kenneth of Dayton, Ohio, Flora Marie Jones of West Union, Ohio; three brothers Paul Byrge of Huntsville, James Byrge and wife, Pearlie, and Winfield Byrge, all of Knoxville; two sisters, Edna Howard of Knoxville, and Kathleen West and husband, Arnold, of Huntsville; one brother-in-law, Harold Strunk of Knoxville; 28 grand children, 58 great-grandchildren., 28 great-great-grand children; two special friends, Wanda Newport and Betty Day; one special granddaughter, Kathy Day; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted January 18, 1999, at Winona Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Walker and Rev. Carlie Duncan officiating.

Interment followed at Crowley Cemetery in Winona. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
