Carmen DeCourval, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Carmen was born Carmen Casado in Brown City, Michigan to the late Antonio and Mercedes Casado.
In 1953, she married the love of her life Ted DeCourval. She worked side by side with him in their family business as a private secretary for many years. They remained married for fifty years until he passed in 2002. She now resides in his loving arms once again.
Carmen loved life and embraced it with passion and gusto. She was an avid reader, a bowler, and an outstanding dancer. She loved music. They joined Black River Country Club in 1967 and found another passion, golf. She enjoyed golf for many years. She also loved the casinos especially the slots. But her greatest joy and passion was her only son, Louie DeCourval. He was the special light of her life.
Carmen was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Louie and her brother, Emilio (Casey) Casado.
Carmen had a love of children and was a supporter of St. Jude's. Those who knew Carmen recognized she never was without an angel placed somewhere on her clothing.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
