Jessie was born July 12, 1939, in Arvada, Colorado to Daniel Albert and Jessie Dee Greenfield Jennings. She passed away June 4, 2022, at the home of her eldest son in Aumsville, Oregon.

Jessie married the love of her life, Gilbert Charles Pickett, December 5, 1959, in San Pedro, California. Following Gilbert's service in the US Navy, they made their life in several areas of Oregon before moving to their final home in North Bend, Oregon, with their two sons Gilbert "Bud", and Gary Thomas. They shared their life for over 50 years in Coos County.

Jessie held a number of jobs during her working life. One of her first jobs was working as a car hop at the A & W Root Beer Stand in Aurora, Colorado; she worked with her father at Fort MacArthur Air Force Base in San Pedro, California; was an operator at the telephone company in California; worked as the receptionist at Dammasch State Hospital in Wilsonville, Oregon; and worked for a number of years as a medical clerk for the Department of Human Resources in Coos Bay, Oregon. She also worked several part time jobs during the years of raising her two sons. During her working life she made many lifelong friends.

Jessie was known as a great servant of her Heavenly Father. During her teen years she was involved in the Christ Ambassadors groups in southern California. In her home church in Coos Bay she was active in Women's Ministries, the nursery, choir, prayer team, and for many years she managed the Indian Christmas project. Her church life was quite important to her and to quote her son, Gary, "pretty much anytime the doors were open, Jessie was there."

Jessie was deeply involved in all of the activities of her sons and grandchildren. She and Gilbert made many memorable trips with their grands, always packing plenty of snacks for all the events. Stay overs with Mama Jessie and Papa Gil always included a huge variety of snacks and fun also.

Jessie is survived by her sons Gilbert (Peggy), and Gary (Sheryl) and their families; Julie (Randy) Voyle; Andy (Enjoli); Thomas, Michele, Jake (Paloma), Brandy (Gary), Chase (Dodi), Brady and Hayden, as well as several greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Orval Lewis, Colorado, Dann (Jeanie) Jennings, Washington; Gary (Sarah) Jennings, Oregon; sisters Twila Smith, Salem, Oregon; and Vicki (Bob) Darby, St. Helens, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents; her brothers, Daniel Jennings; George Lewis; Royce Jennings; sisters, Helen Walsh, Doris Reid, Lulu Bentley, Ruth Reimann, Carol Martin and a baby sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons.

Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
