Daniel is the son of Daniel Albert Jennings and Ruth Mae Allen.

He married Dorothy Mae Mitchell on May 3, 1938 in Castle Rock, Douglas, Colorado.

To this union two children were born; both survive.

He later married Fern Powers on March 8, 1948 in St. Francis, Cheyenne, Kansas.

One child was born to this union and survives.

Daniel entered active duty during World War II. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, and was assigned to the 3300th Support Group, United States Air Force, at his death.

Information received from his son, Richard: "Dad graduated from Ava High School, Ava, Douglas, Missouri when he was 16 years old and was class valedictorian.

He was stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver, Colorado during the late 1940's. He was stationed in New Jersey in 1955.

He was decorated 21 times, three purple hearts (Legion of Merit) right under medal of honor in Korea for leading the escape of five prisoners. Worked for many years in the service as a cook and baker. In his later years he went into Manpower and Management and was up for Master when he passed away."
