Lewis died Monday in his home at 14006 E. 27th Ave. after a brief illness. He was 47.
Born April 9, 1928, in Merino, he was educated in the Denver area. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
Lewis had been water plant supervisor for Consolidated Mutual Water District for the past two years. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League.
Lewis was married to Nellie A. Bennett in Aurora on June 4, 1950.
Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Karen Yanta and Mrs. Melodee Hunt, and a son, William L. Lewis, all of Aurora, his mother, Mrs. Jessie D. Jennings of Salem, Ore; seven sisters, Mrs. Doris M. Reed, Mrs. Twila D. Smith, Mrs. Ruth A. Owens, and Mrs. Virginia D. Darby, all of Salem, Mrs. Lou B. Bentley of Sacramento, Mrs. Jessie L. Pickett of North Bend, Ore., and Mrs. Carol G. Martin of Kent, Wash.; and four brothers, Dann A. Jennings and Gary L. Jennings, both of Salem, Orval A. Lewis of Commerce City and Royce L. Jennings of Lakewood."
