Bus Casner was the third child of Riley Casner and Rebecca Jane Frezell Casner who settled on Beaver Creek, Yavapai County, AZ in 1875. Bus was born on the Beaver Creek Ranch owned by his father.

On March 16, 1914 Bus married Jessie Belle Bruce. To this union were born four children:
Alvin LeRoy Casner
Veva D. Casner
Rosemary Casner
Benjamn Eugene 'Gene' Casner
