Riley, Sr. was on his way from OR to CA in search of his two brothers who lived in Calaveras County, CA. The wife of Riley, Sr. and two of the children (Nancy and Joseph) died of a fever in 1873 in CA while they were crossing the desert.
Riley, Jr. moved to AZ in 1875 with his father and several other Casner family members. Riley, Jr. married circa 1909 to Ada Faye (?). It is believed they had no children.
