14th May 2002-whilst sorting out my father's personal effects, (he had died on 8th May) we came across a photocopy of a letter dated 26th December 1940 granting exclusive burial rights to Mrs. M.(sic) Norris c/o Mrs Mayes (my Aunt Rose and my Godmother), 11 Kingston Road, Taunton.
See also photograph taken (during the war years?) with Aunt Rose tending the grave. It is interesting to note that the thin sapling in the background is now a very large tree!
The grave number is 2/229 (class 2) at St. Mary's Cemetery, Taunton.
Inquest held 5th November-verdict-misadventure.
Born 29th June 1924 at 28 Norman Road, Ilford
Died 3rd November 1940 at 29 Fullands Road, Taunton, Somerset.
Prior to evacuation she had been a packer in Howards Chemical Works in Uphall Road- within sight of her birthplace and her home.
