Minnie Grace Norris was born 2nd February 1916 at 171 Sheringham Avenue, Manor Park, the second child of Herbert James Norris and Minnie Mayes.Her first name of course, was also that of her mother, and her middle name was given after that of one of her father's sisters.
She was baptized when in her 30's, the only child of the family to have been baptized.
She married Stanley Charles William Lipman on August 21, 1938 at the Vine Memorial Church, High Road, Ilford.
In 1945 she is known to have been living at 154 Richmond Road.
She had two sons, Brian, who predeceased her and Alan.
Her life was hard; she suffered three bombing attacks during WWII which caused some brain injuries.
The family moved to 1 Gadshill Cottages, Mid-Higham in Kent. Stan worked at a local car repair workshop as did their son Brian; he was injured there by a petrol explosion and this is thought to have precipitated leukemia from which he shortly died.
Minnie and Stan moved to static mobile home accommodation near Meopham and then to a flat in St Alban's Close, near Valley Drive, Gravesend.It was here that Stan passed away and it was here that she enjoyed the company of her beloved pet dog, Buster. She kept a photograph of Buster for the rest of her life.The time came when Social Services determined that she could longer look after herself and she was placed in a care home in Old Road East. [Aquarius Lodge]. When that closed, she was moved to Manorbrooke Residential Care Home at Stone, near Dartford and then to Gravesham Place in Gravesend. In the early part of 2013, she was hospitalized with a chest infection but on discharge was placed in a BUPA care home in Northfleet. She had been there only a few days when she passed away peacefully in her sleep, late afternoon 12th February, 2013.
She led a good Christian life, attending churches near wherever she was living whenever possible.
The funeral service was held at 2.00pm at Hope Church Gravesend, conducted by Stephen Lloyd.
Hymn was " How Great Thou Art" followed by Minnie's favourite song- "Joy!, Joy!,Joy!"

Flowers were sent by her son Alan, who could not attend,and these were placed on the coffin.

Minnie's brother Bert, niece Brenda with her husband David and their daughter, Harriet.
Julie Hyne and her husband Steve-Julie represented her grandmother, May, Minnie's surviving sister.

Her ashes were interred Wednesday 28th August 2013-service conducted by Rev John Southwood with nephew, Geoffrey Gillon and niece, Carol in attendance.
