Well Known Resident, of Lyra Called by Death at Mankato Hospital.
Hearts in this community were sorely grieved last Wednesday morning when word came from the Immanuel hospital telling of the death of Mrs. Henry Bunde of Lyra. Mrs. Bunde died of complications following a lingering illness.
Emma Weber Bunde, the eldest daughter of the late Henry Weber and. Barbara [Kirchofer] Weber, was born in Decoria, February 10, 1886. Her entire life was spent in Blue Earth County, where she left a host of friends to mourn her departure so early in life. She was baptized, and confirmed in the Lutheran church of which she remained a faithful member during her pilgrimage here.
Emma Weber was united in marriage with. Henry Bunde October 17, 1925, and went to live in Lyra. Mr. and Mrs. Bunde improved their farm and had just completed a new dwelling a short time ago. It was while they were moving into their new house that she was taken worse and moved to the hospital where she passed away a week later.
Mrs. Bunde was a home lover, a good woman, and one who was recognized for many virtues. Besides her grief stricken husband and mother, she is survived by two sisters, Mss. Lydia Mensing of Decoria, Mrs. Bertha Mensing of Blue Earth, and two brothers, Fred and John, who reside in Decoria, and three half brohers, Wm. A. Weber and Albert Weber of Mankato and Emil Weber of Decoria.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Good Thunder, where Rev. Klamner spoke fittingly from Ps. 126-4:5. A male quartet .rendered a series of appropriate dirges, and the immense crowd which attended the services gave evidence of the esteem and respect in which Mrs. Bunde was held. Interment was made at the Decoria cemetery, which is a portion of the estate on which the deceased was born.—Decoria Correspondent. BECE, 11/15/1929.
