WESLACO - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 4, 1981 in the McCaleb Funeral Home for Mrs. Rosa Whitaker, 88, who died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday July 1, 1981 in Knapp Methodist Hospital in Weslaco. The Rev. Joe Cariker, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. She was the widow of Felix Whitaker, who died Dec. 8, 1964. A native of Sherman. Mrs. Whitaker had lived in the area since 1922. She resided at Mile 5 and 13 in Weslaco. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Oskar (Edith) Salge of San Juan and Mrs. Morton (Wilma) Brewer of Hugoton, Kan. three sons, Ernest, Leon, and Floyd Whitaker of Weslaco; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
