Mr. Ablett, was a lifelong resident of Cohoes and lived at 20 Summit St. He had been mayor of Cohoes for two terms, from 1936 to 1939. He previously had been a member of the construction firm of Ablett & Bowes and had been superintendent of construction for the Harmony Mills Company. He also had served as clerk of the former excise board of Cohoes. He had been Industrial Commissioner about 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Stanton Ablett, and a son, Cohoes City Court Judge W. Stanton Ablett, two daughters, Mrs. Patrick Quinn and Miss Dorothy Ablett; a grandson, Frank S. Ablett, II, and a sister, Miss Agnes Ablett, all of Cohoes.
