LONG GROVE, Iowa -- Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian M. Peters, a resident of Long Grove, Iowa, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the church. The family invites you to join them for a rosary at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Peters died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at ManorCare Health Care, Davenport.
Lillian Mary Claeys was born August 19, 1913, in rural Scott County, the daughter of Julius and Augusta (Forrett) Claeys. She was united in marriage to Harvey Peters on November 28, 1938, in rural Scott County. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1982. Lillian spent her life as a homemaker and helping with the chores on the family farm. In her free time she enjoyed dancing, gardening, loved to needle point and bake sweets for her grandchildren, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her son, Darrell Peters, Long Grove; grandchildren, Wendi (Lance) Seastrand, Calamus, and Dennis "Petey" Peters, Long Grove; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Austin Seastrand and Alyssa and Dale Peters; two brothers, Felix (Rita) Claeys, Long Grove, and Reme (Verba) Claeys, of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Janice, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. May they rest in peace.
