Passed away October 25, 2014 at the age of 92. Reme was born in Long Grove, Iowa to Julius C. and Augusta (Foret) Claeys February 10, 1922. Reme was an Army Veteran of WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was devoted to his family.

He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Paul Claeys.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Verba; children Rebecca (Larry) Buonodono and Jack (Debra) Claeys; eight grandchildren, Alissa, Joe, Jeff, Corey, Nick, Richard, Chris and Dusty; and six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kendall, Chesney, Hudson, Sloan, Josie, and one on the way.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 12:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing with Rev. C. Peter Dougherty officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , Memorials and Tributes Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 in memory of Reme.
