She was born on October 9, 1927, in Zanesville, OH, to the late William G. and Mildred I. (Stokely) Barry. Elsie Ann graduated from St. Thomas High and later studied at St. Mary of the Springs.
On June 25, 1948, Elsie Ann married the love of her life, Frederick W. Berkshire whom survives. Together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage.
Elsie Ann was a devoted woman of faith and has been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marion for many years. She enjoyed volunteering year after year in the lunchroom of the Catholic High School and Elementary School. Elsie Ann also was a wonderful homemaker. She always took pride in keeping her house clean and in order to welcome guests at a moment's notice. Elsie Ann's family owned and operated the Bloomer Candy Company in Zanesville. For many years she shared Bloomer candy with her children and grandchildren for all the major holidays, something she truly took delight in doing.
She will be missed by her husband, Frederick; children, grand children, great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie Ann was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Sister Augusta Barry and Martha (Larry) Mirgon.
