James W. (J.W.) Adams, 92, of Laurel, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Sharon Cemetery. Revs. Dan Watts and Robert Scruggs will officiate.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict and retired from Masonite after 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sharon, serving as a Deacon for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jolene Adams Clark, and grandson, Bill Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Ora V. Adams of Laurel; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy W. and Beverly Adams of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Elaine Adams of Foley, Ala., and Sandie Adams Smith of Laurel; two brothers, Randolph Adams of Laurel and Theodore Adams of Ervin, Texas; sister, Emma Herrington of Laurel; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements
