Elizabeth grew up in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran in Saline County near her farm home. She was baptized there as an infant, confirmed there in 1916, and it was there where she exchanged marriage vows with Carl Loseke on February 24, 1929.
Carl was from Columbus, and they returned there to spend the rest of their lives. They had four children: Cordula Ruth ("Corky"), Anita, Roger, and Greta. Roger died in a tractor accident at the age of 15. Corky married Carl Johannes; she died in 2011 and both she and Carl are buried in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Columbus. Anita and Greta are also married and live near to Columbus.
