Christena "Chris" Mae Rinker, 83, passed away on April 7, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hartford City on October 24, 1937 to Sherman J. Helm and Mable F. (Swindler) Helm. Her parents preceded her in death.

She graduated from Roll High School in 1956. She married H. Dean Rinker on April 7, 1958 at Trinity United Methodist Church by Rev. Cobb. Dean passed away on March 18, 2015.

Chris worked in the Blackford County School System, 20 years as a Teacher's Aid and 16 years in food service. She loved working with the kids and was always smiling. She had a heart of gold and was one of the sweetest person you could ever meet. She loved baking and cooking and was known for her delicious cookies. She loved to cook and bake so much that she wore out at least 4 stoves in her lifetime. She would make treats and share them with her friends and family. She loved family dinners and never missed an occasion to share her goodies with others. When Roger was young, she would make dinners for his baseball teams throughout the years. She also loved music and enjoyed going with Mike to watch him line dance. Spending time with and spoiling her boys brought her great joy in life. She also enjoyed gardening and had a vegetable garden that she liked tending to and was known to paint crafts from time to time. Chris was co-owner of Rinker Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Michael "Mike" Dean Rinker of Hartford City and Roger Denton (wife, Julia) Rinker of Fishers; brother, Raymond "Bud" D.
