Graveside services for Alta Mae Cary, 93 of Hollister, will be Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Omaha Cemetery, Omaha, Arkansas under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.

Alta Mae Cary was born in Green Forest, Arkansas on December 24, 1927. She was a life-long resident of Hollister and graduated from Hollister High School. Alta Mae married Wilford Cary in 1946 in Harrison, Arkansas and they were blessed with three children.

Alta Mae was passionate about this area and preserving its history and was active with the White River Valley Historical Society. She also did genealogy research of various families with Taney County heritage. Alta Mae was a faithful member of the Hollister Presbyterian Church. She worked for White River Valley Electric Cooperative and retired from their billing department after twenty-three years of service. Alta Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed by all who had the gift to know her.

Alta Mae entered into rest on March 9, 2021 at Cox Medical Center in Branson.

Alta Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Della (Littrell) Hamon; husband, Wilford Cary; brothers, David, Lloyd, Arthur and Carrol Hamon; sisters, Evelyn Hamon, Alice Berry and Lena Plott and one grandson, Aaron Matthew Hughes.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Hughes (Aaron) of Cross Timbers, MO, Jeff Cary (Michel Martinez) of Hollister and Anita Linkous (Tom) of Hollister. Alta Mae is also survived by her brother, Gordon Hamon of Kirbyville; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
