Walter J. Rader, 82, of Pemberton, who died Wednesday at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Alma City, the Rev. Alfred Jannusch officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery, Decoria Township.
Visitation is Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Tichenor Funeral Home, Mapleton.
Mr. Rader was born Oct. 11, 1896, to Louis and Katheryn Rader in Blue Earth County. He married Ethel DeRemer in Mankato Sept. 4, 1922. They farmed several years, and moved into Pemberton in 1949. He then started working as a carpenter. He was a council member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Alma City, and a life long resident of the Pemberton-Mapleton area.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel, two sons, Donald and Allan both of Mankato; two daughters, Carol (Mrs. Robert) Annis, and Loretta (Mrs. Manford) Ward, both of Mapleton; one sister, Florence (Mrs. Silas) Getty, St. Peter; one brother, George, Mapleton; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. 3/8/1979.
