Services for George Rader, 85, who died Tuesday at Immanuel-St Joseph's Hospital, Mankato, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St John's Lutheran Church, Mapleton, the Rev. Fred Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery, Decoria Township. Visitation is at the Tichenor Funeral Home here from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour before services at the church.
Mr. Rader was born March 4, 1894, to Louis and Catherine (Schenk) Rader in Decoria Township. He married Rachel DeRemer in Mankato, Oct 13, 1923. He had been employed in highway maintenance by the Minnesota Highway Department, and lived all his life in the Mapleton and Decoria areas. He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church here for many years.
Mr. Rader is survived by a son, James Rader, Burnsville; three daughters, Lola (Mrs. Leslie) Johnston, Emily (Mrs. Donald) Minkel, and Ruth (Mrs. Loren) Cumming, all of Mapleton; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, six brothers and five sisters. Mankato Free Press; 12/12/1979
