Lois Marie Stenerson, 81, of Red Wing, died after a year-long battle with cancer at Potter Ridge Assisted Living Community on Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born on September 7, 1939, in Cannon Falls to Gifford and Leona Duncan. She was baptized on October 22, 1939 at Vasa Lutheran Church. She was confirmed June 21, 1953 at St. Ansgars Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in June of 1957. Lois was united in marriage to Tilman “Tim” Stenerson on November 14, 1959 at St. Ansgars Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. They lived in Red Wing for 5 years and the Vasa area for about 20 years, before moving back to Red Wing. She worked in the Movie Theater in Cannon Falls while in high school. After graduating, she worked in the office at the Red Wing Potteries. Later, she worked in the office at the Red Wing Shoe Company and then was a bookkeeper for Stenerson Machine, until she retired at 69 years old. Lois enjoyed embroidery, quilting, antiquing, and traveling. She and Tim took a lot of driving trips, especially to National Parks. At age 65, they finally got on a plane and went to Scandinavia, Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Tilman Stenerson; son, Jeffrey (Keri) of Red Wing; daughter, Kimberly (Tracey) Von Bargen of Alexandria, MN; seven grandchildren, Alicia (Santos), Alex (Katie), Benjamin, Midori and Hakyma, and 2 step-grandchildren, Makenzie and Chance; four great-grandchildren, Preston, Alexia, Sophia, and Antonio; and one brother, Clair Duncan of Red Wing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy; two brothers, Archie and Harlan Duncan; and two sisters, Marcelyn Jacobson and Norma Taylor.

A private funeral service will be on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. A public walk-through visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to United Lutheran Church.
