Zilla Shelton is the 7th great granddaughter of Thomas Welles. Thomas Welles was Governor of the Colony of Connecticut 1655-1658 and the only man in Connecticut's history to hold all four top offices: governor, deputy governor, treasurer, and secretary.Service for Zilla Shelton Hansen, 97, is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bowdish Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Private burial will be at the Freeman (Wash.) Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Heber City, Utah, Mrs. Hansen died Friday.

She was a 31-year Spokane resident and had worked as a foster grandparent at Lakeland Village and Interlake School for 16 years.

Her husband of 52 years, Hans Hansen, died in 1967.

She is survived by three children, June Abbey of Billings, Mont., Ray Hansen of Maple Valley, Wash., and Beth Nerger of Pullman; 28 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
