Diamond D. Shelton
Diamond D. Shelton, 84, a former salesman and motel owner, died of causes related to age Tuesday at Fortneuf Valley Nursing home in Pocatello, Idaho.
He was born July 26, 1914 to Charles and Amanda Buys Shelton at Heber City, Utah. He was the youngest of eight children.
He married Ruth Jensen in 1931. They divorced in 1950.
He married Hildy Osborne Dec 26, 1953.
He was a product salesman for the Frizbee Jam and Jelly Co., an insurance salesman for the American Automobile
Association and owned and operated the Cottage Motel and Trailer Court in Ritzville, Wash. He retired in 1980. He and his wife moved to the Oregon coast in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, beach combing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife at their home in Reedsport, Ore.; two sons, Richard Shelton, of North Las Vegas, Nev., and Jory Shelton of Genesee, Idaho; two daughters, Colleen Shelton-Davis of Pocatello, Idaho, and Kaily Freund of Grants Pass, Ore., 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert "Ab", Clarence and Vont Shelton and four sisters, Fern Moriarity, Jane Peterson, Orel Shelton, Zilla Hansen.
Their will be a private graveside service in Genesee. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston.
