Obituary
Betty Jean Anderson Rossiter passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 23, 2020 at the Ashford Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility in Springville, Utah at the age of 92. She was born in Cumberland, Lincoln County, Wyoming on August 14, 1928 the daughter of Edwin Hyrum Anderson and Emma Johanna Strand, the sixth of eight children. She married Bryant William Rossiter on April 16, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple. She attended Granite High School and the Brigham Young University.
Betty will be remembered by family members and friends in near and distant places for her loving nature, devotion to family, love of the Savior and her life-long commitment to the principles and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Day Saints. She will also be remembered as “world class quilter” and other artistic gifts and talents she readily shared with others. Her eternal companion often referred to Betty, “as an LDS version of Wonder Woman and Mother Teresa.” She served in many church callings which included Eastern States Mission Primary President; Cumorah Stake Relief Society President, Rochester, New York; Laguna Niguel California Stake Relief Society President; 4-years as Assistant to the Matron, San Diego Temple.
Surviving loved ones include her husband, Bryant William Rossiter of Springville, Utah; children: Mark (Val) William Rossiter of Rochester, New York; Diane (Chris) Vincent of Inwood, West Virginia; Steven (Valli) Kent Rossiter of Saint George, Utah; Linda Rossiter of Provo, Utah; Karen Rossiter Munton of Trabuco Canyon, California; Matthew (Eva) James Rossiter of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; Gregory (Katie) Thomas Rossiter of Provo, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.
Betty is proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin Hyrum and Emma Strand Anderson, her son, Bryant Edwin Rossiter and her brothers Curtis and Oliver Anderson, and sisters Carolyn Elzinga, Mary Lothrop, Enid Nordgran, Lily Van Dyke and Lula Lee Holm.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah 84663. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday Evening, December 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
