William Jack Davis, 80, died at 5:30 a.m. December 20, 1949, at his home, Rt. 2, Albion. He had resided in this area for 37 years, and was widely known.
Mr. Davis had been employed for 45 years before his retirement as a section Foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was born at Indiana, Pa., November 26, 1869, a son of Nathaniel and Martha {Kier} Davis. He married Lula Mae Milliken on December 23, 1890. One child preceded him in death, Helen Estelle Davis who died in 1891 in Verona.
Six children survive: Mrs. George {Martha} Shannon, Springboro; Harold, Tucson, Arizona; Frank, Elkins, West Virginia; Earl Kier of Albion; Mrs Merl {Delna} Sawdy and Mrs. Theron {Ada Margaret} Beery of Albion; also a sister; Mrs. Elmer Grant {Loudeen} Best of Tarentum, Pa; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Wemple Funeral home, in charge of Rev. Herbert Boyd, with interment in the Albion Cemetery. Friends may call at the home on Rt. 2 1 1/2 miles south of Albion, until noon Friday.
