ALBION-Earl Kier Davis, 74, 6 Euclid, Albion, died Tuesday at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Verona, Pa. on June 5, 1906. The son of the late William and Lula {Milliken} Davis. He was employed by the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad for over 30 years as a machinist before his retirement. He farmed all of his life and was an avid hunter for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Craig Davis; two sons, Earl Davis, Jr., of Arkansas and William of Pittsburgh; five daughters; Mrs. Robert {Ruth} Field of West Springfield, Mrs. Russell {Mary Lou} Robison of Glendora, California, Mrs. George {Betty} Glarner of Pittsburgh, Mrs Larry {Sheila} Adams of Albion, Mrs Bill {Shirley} Rushworth of North Springfield; a step-daughter, Edith Rebecca Harner Duda (Tom)of Albion; one brother Frank {Bob} Davis of Albion, three sisters, Mrs. Martha Shannon of Conneautville, Mrs. Merle {Delna} Sawdy of Albion, and Mrs. Theron {Margaret Ada} Beery of Albion; and by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A sister, Helen Davis, preceded in 1899.
Friends may call at the Samuel J. Steff Funeral Home Albion on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Fred Schoppe of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Lake City, officiating.
Interment at the Albion Cemetery.
