Mrs. Sarah J. Prater, 86, formerly of Pineville, Mo., died last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Roy K. Houseman, 3640 Woodland. She had lived here three years. She was a charter member of the Methodist church in Pineville.
Surviving also are six sons, Melvin Prater, Seneca, Mo.; George F. Prater, Carthage, Mo.; the Rev. J.D. Prater, Nevada, Mo.; J.B. Prater, Tucson, Ariz.; Leonard Prater, 1222 Prospect, and Henry M. Prater, machinist's mate first class in the navy at Guam; three sisters, Mrs. Mary McRill, Chicago; Mrs. Cynthia Sellers, Pineville and Mrs. Martha Nutting, Anderson, Mo.; a brother, W.M. Kenney, Wyandotte, Ok.; twenty-six grandchildren, of which nine grandsons now are serving in the armed forces, and thirty-six great-grandchildren.
