Son of Andrew Jackson Brown & Sarah Caladonia Gregory, he was known by Walter. In his youth he was a pitcher for a local baseball team, and played the banjo for square dances. He was a sharecropper most of his life and worked a short time for Nebrig Plumbing Co. in Decatur. He married Lula Maude Brown and had 11 children.

Hartselle - Funeral services for Thomas Walter Brown, 81, Hartselle 4, who died Sunday in a local hospital were to be today at 3 p.m. at Johnson's Chapel United Methodist Church, Revs. Jack Belew and David Weaver officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery, Peck Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five sons, J. D. Brown, Danville 2; Hubert Brown, Russell Brown, Robert Brown, Elmer Brown, all of Hartselle; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Wallace, Mrs. Mavene Holt, both of Hartselle; Mrs. Ruby George, Manchester, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. The body was to remain at the residence until it is taken to the church for services.

Mr. Brown was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was a native of Lawrence County.
