Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturady in the Kilbourne Baptist Church, Rev. William Laughlin will officate. Burial will be in the Kilbourne Cemetery.
Visitation began at 2 p.m. today in the Lintner Funeral Home at Chandlerville. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday where friends may call until time of service.
Mr. Conklin was born January 25, 1892 in Bath, IL to Charles Edward and Mary Josephine Clotfelter Conklin. He married Flossie Charlotte Ade on July 6, 1909 at Petersburg and she survives.
Mr. Conklin had spent his entire life at Kilbourne and taught school for a number of years in Mason County. In 1918 he became the rural mail carrier, retiring in 1949.
Surviving are 14 children, Mrs. Blanche (Henry) Wahlfeld, Forest City, IL, Mrs. Evelyn (Elmer) Williamson, Homer Conklin, Harold Conklin, all of Milwaukee, WI, Raymond Conklin of Easton, IL, Mrs. Winifred (Jack) Conklin of Thorpe, WI, Lloyd Conklin and Patsy (Donald) Kramer of Havana, IL, Mrs. Daisy (Clarence) Emmons of Alton, IL, Mrs. June (Howard) Emmons of Cottage Hill, IL, Mrs. Floye (Otis) Hughes, Mrs. Nina (Harold) Robison, Donald Conklin and James Conklin, all of Kilbourne, IL; 40 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
