ALTON — Daisy M. Emmons, 89, died at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born March 28, 1925, in Kilbourne, Ill., she was the daughter of Leslie Ray and Flossie Charlotte (Ade) Conklin.

Mrs. Emmons was a homemaker and mother and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.

On June 15, 1946, she married Clarence A. Emmons Sr. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Surviving is a daughter, Charlotte Sumner (John) of East Alton, a son, Clarence Emmons Jr. (Margie Dierking) of Godfrey; four grandchildren, Cindy Roady (Wayne), Robert Emmons, Matthew Sumner and Daniel Sumner, four great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Conklin (Donna) of Petersburg, Ill., and one sister, Patsy Kramer of Bloomington, Ill.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Lloyd, Homer, Harold and Donald Conklin, and six sisters, Blanche Wahlfeld, Evelyn Williamson, Winifred Conklin, Nina Robison Patrick, Flo Hughes and June Emmons.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. Reverend Andre' Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.

Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
