Clarence was born in Anderson Co, TX to Riley Marion and Sarah A. Bars Douthit. His parents are buried in Garden of Memories. He shares a stone with his wife, Mabel Priscilla Barthel Douthit who he married 29 October 1916 in Anderson Co, TX. Their sons, Boyd Link Douthit and Milton Wayne Douthit, are also buried in Garden of Memories. Their son, Melvin Clarence "Red" Douthit, is buried in Roselawn Park.

CLARENCE DOUTHIT SERVICES FRIDAY
Funeral services for Clarence E. Douthit, 65, of Rt. 1, Palestine will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hassell & Foster chapel here. Rev. Jimmy Reese will officiate and burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Joe Bailey Parker, Homer Morris, Ira Huddleston, Raymond Thomas, Ben Kelly and C. J. Moran.
Mr. Douthit died following a short illness at 1 a.m. today in a local hospital. A life-long resident of Anderson County, born July 26, 1895, Mr. Douthit was a retired farmer and dairyman.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Douthit of Palestine; three sons, Boyd and Leland Douthit, both of Palestine, Melvin Douthit of Houston; one sister, Mrs. G. H. Barthel of Palestine; and three grandchildren.
The body will be at Hassell and Foster until after services.
