Boyd was born in Anderson Co, TX to Clarence Ephener and Mabel Priscilla Barthel Douthit. He graduated from Elkhart High School and enlisted the Army in June 1942. He trained at Camp Lee, VA and Camp Edwards, MA and was honorably discharged at Camp Gordon Johnston in 1943. Boyd is buried beside his parents.

Boyd Douthit
Services for Boyd Douthit, 85, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Kevin Willmott officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Douthit died Thursday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
He was born Nov. 15, 1917 in Anderson County to Clarence E. and Mabel Barthel Douthit.
Mr. Douthit graduated from Elkhart High School in 1939. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a Christian and served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Mrs. Douthit was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Milton Douthit, Melvin "Red" Douthit and Homer Douthit.
He is survived bo brother, Leland Douthit and wife Johnye of Palestine; nieces, Pat Douthit-Green and Betty Douthit Gause, both of Palestine, and Marsha Douthit Snow of Cedar Park; and a nephew, Charles Douthit of Waco.
Pallbearers will be Garth Moran, Larry Thomas, Billy Bambeck, Shane Farrarr, Kyle Douthit and Clint Willis.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
