Sarah was born in Anderson Co, TX to James R. and Fannie Adeline Nation Bars. She shares a stone with her husband, Riley Marion Douthit, who she married 30 November 1892. They were the parents of Minnie Belle Douthit Barthel, Clarence Ephner Douthit, and Virgil Link Douthit, all of which are buried in Garden of Memoires.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Wednesday, 23 February 1949:
MRS. R. M. DOUTHIT DIES WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Riley M. Douthit, 73, of Route 1, Elkhart, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hassell & Foster Chapel with Rev. D. D> Sumrall officiating. Burial will be in the Elkhart cemetery.
Mrs. Douthit died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. H. Barthel, after a long illness.
Survivors are her husband, two sons, V. L. Douthit of Palestine and Clarence Douthit of Route 1, Elkhart; one daughter, Mrs. Barthel of Route 1, Elkhart; one sister, Mrs. Jesse Callaway of Elmwood; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
