Anna K. Gassner, 89, a resident of the Samaritan Home in West Bend, formerly of Ashford, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
She was born on July 27, 1916, in Straton, Colo., the daughter of the late Kilian and Katherine Hildmann Simon.
On Oct. 27, 1951, she married Robert H. Gassner at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Ashford. They farmed together in the Town of Leroy before moving to the Ashford area in 1955.
Anna was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.
Survivors include her sons, Robert G. (Holly) of West Bend, Thomas (John) of West Bend and Daniel of Knoxville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Crystal Gassner of Brownsville and Justin and Janel Gassner of West Bend; her brother, Linus (Florence) Simon of Campbellsport; nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on April 30, 1981; her son, Peter, on July 15, 1974; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in west Bend. The Rev. Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery in Ashford on Thursday.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of the service on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at the church.
