Nathalia was known as "Nannie" to her family. Her given name was Maria Hulda Natalia. She grew up on her parent's farm in Almelund, Chisago City, MN, with her 13 siblings. Nannie married Carl Gustaf Anderson on July 16, 1911, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. They had one son, Floyd, born on November 9, 1911. Nannie was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna, Ella, and Jennie. Cause of death is unknown, but family members state that many of the Herberg siblings died at a young age due to diabetes.
