Andrew Mable Williams was born in Lampasas, Texas, the daughter of Andrew Williams (1847-1916), a veteran of the Union Army during the Civil War, and America Sidney Dial (1849-1923), born in Hopkins County to Martin Dial and Margaret Campbell Dial.

May met Henry C. Marrs, and the couple married in 1898, moving later to Mineral Wells where Henry farmed. The couple had one son, Houston Marrs.

When Henry died, May moved to west Dallas where other family lived. She met Andrew Jackson English, and the couple married December 24, 1903. A.J. was a bricklayer and carpenter. The family moved to Irving in 1912 and lived there throughout her life.

Her children were Houston Marrs, Albert Stafford "Jack", Curtis Leroy, Margarete Nelle, Russell Dial, Dorothy Mabelle, Esther Belle, Mable, Myrtle Alyene, Jess Willard "Bill", David Eugene and Andrew Jackson Jr. Dorothy, born in 1910, died in 1911 and is buried in Western Heights Cemetery, Dallas.

May died July 1, 1925, and was laid to rest in Kit Cemetery, Irving.
