He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. David married the love of his life, Betty Jean Brown, on October 19, 1946. Betty passed away in June 2009 after more than 62 years of marriage.
Their first son, David, was born in August 1948 and died February 8, 1963.
His children also include Randall and his wife Cathy, daughters Charlotte Taylor and her husband Guy, Brenda Horton and her husband Issac; and Chris Evans and her husband Terry.
