Brattleboro - Francis W. Kent 87, formerly of 79 Frost St. died Tuesday at Eden Park Nursing Home, where he had been a patient the past six years. A lifelong resident of Brattleboro, he was born in Brattleboro on July 15, 1906, the son of William H. and Rosella (Aldrich) Kent, and attended Brattleboro schools. Mr. Kent was employed many years by the former C.F. Church Manufacturing Co. and the Book Press, retiring in 1961. His wife Edna (Davis) Kent died Oct. 20, 1968. Survivors include a son, Burton Kent of
Brattleboro; four sisters, Edith Crown of Wiscassett, Maine, Mary Avery of Brockton, Mass., Mable Brown of Bernardston, Mass., and Rosella Desbiens of West Hartford, Conn.; three brothers, William Kent of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Ralph Kent of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., and Richard Kent of Lagrangeville, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Ker, Westerlund and Fleming Funeral Home. The Rev. John Bixby of Centre Congregational Church will officate. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in the family lot in Morningside Cemetery.
