William Henry Kent, 85, of 8, Spring Street died Saturday evening in Memorial Hospital where he was admitted early in the day. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Fleming's Funeral Home. Rev. Robert P. Bartlett officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Putney. Born in Mt. Tabor, Vt., Oct. 15 1864, he was a son of Joseph and Esther (Buffum) Kent. He spent the greater part of his life here and in Dummerston. Before his retirement 15 years ago Mr. Kent operated a horse-drawn express wagon here about 30 years. He leaves 11 children. They are Francis of Brattleboro, John of Dummerston, Raymond of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. William of Florida, Ralph of Bennington and Richard of Bellows Falls; Mrs. Richard Crown of Wiscasset, Me. Mrs. H. Norman Leavitt of Worcester, Mass., Mrs. Eugene Shippa of West Dummerston, Mrs. James Heath of Greenfield, Mass. and Mrs.Jerry Deseben of Bridgeport Conn. He also leaves one brother, Walter of Londonderry, N.H.; two sisters, Mrs. Warner Kathan of Springfield, Vt., and Mrs Philip Duby of Bellows Falls and 20 grandchildren.
